Dinner at La Distellerie

I was invited to dinner at the “La Distellerie” restaurant.  If you’re from Luxembourg and into your food, you’ve probably already heard of it.  For those that aren’t from Luxembourg, it is a restaurant that is located in the castle at Bourglinster.  It is a Michelin star restaurant, so you know the quality of the food is going to be good.

This restaurant exceeded my expectations.  Never have I had so much good quality, beautifully presented food placed in front of me.  Every course was better than the last one.  The waiter was very friendly.  If you live in Luxembourg, you’ll know that customer service can be hit or miss at restaurants.  Not at La Distellerie though.  He gave you a little introduction to the course with every new dish presented and was always on hand to refill your glass if you were nearing empty.

I had the marine “la dégustation” menu.  I can’t remember what everything was called because I got far too excited about the food and did not pay enough attention to what the waiter was saying.  However, I did remember to take photos (except for the first aperitif and my cheese course).  If the description is in French, then that is the name as taken from the menu, if it is in English, that is just my description of what it was. All items pictured below were part of my menu.

This wasn't food but I thought it was so pretty. It was perfumed water with dry ice. It smelled lovely.
